One day I cautiously opened an email to undisclosed recipient. It was the subject line that
prompted me to ignore my usual practice of automatically deleting the unopened mail. I will be
forever grateful that I did.
Not only was the email legit, it was an invitation to explore a market our company had been
looking for.
iMAP Audits, a service company who provides energy and asbestos audits to large industrial
facilities here in Sarnia Lambton, was asked to submit an abstract that would qualify iMAP’s
solution to make up content for energy efficiency workshops.
iMAP waited for word on making the final cut. The news came on the first of June. As a result,
iMAP was invited by the Federation of India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to
present our leading edge technology to over 250 delegates at energy efficiency workshops in
New Delhi and Chennai India.
iMAP’s presentation was delivered by Ms Katherine Walker, director of Marketing and
Technology and Mr. Paul Desrochers, director of Operations to our precise target audience with
resounding success.
The trip extended over 12 days and several meetings with key officials have landed business
opportunities that will see iMAP return to India very soon.
One thing became very clear during iMAP’s trip. India bears huge potential for business
opportunities for exports and knowledge transfer. It was a risk for iMAP to venture so far from
home on our inaugural global export attempt but we could not have hoped for better results.
We have proven what we already knew, the iMAP software is second to none and it is now
being accepted halfway around the world. Although much work has yet to be done, the future
appears very bright.
